Last week several members of the EdGraph team headed off to Austin, TX to attend our SEVENTH Ed-Fi Summit (an annual conference that connects state and local education leaders, ed-tech providers, educators, and technical experts who are using data to solve education’s most entrenched problems)!

Seeing the community balloon from just a few districts and a handful of vendors, to a room filled with 700+ attendees truly shows the positive impact of the Ed-Fi standard on LEAs and state agencies throughout the country. Thank you to the Ed-Fi Alliance!

We had a great time reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. It was invaluable to hear directly from education organizations about their unique needs and situations, as well as putting our heads together with other Ed-Fi community leaders to come up with innovative solutions to those scenarios.

Our CTO, Jean-Francois Guertin, participated in a couple of conversations over the course of the Summit. One with Gene Garcia of Microsoft entitled "Data Validation that Scales". He was also part of the Closing Panel discussion, "The Next Decade of Data Analytics".

We are excited to announce that EdGraph has successfully completed a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II audit, performed by Sensiba San Filippo, LLP (SSF).

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 information security standard is an audit report on the examination of controls relevant to the trust services criteria categories covering security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

A SOC 2 Type II report describes a service organization's systems and whether the design of specified controls meets the relevant trust services categories, and assesses the effectiveness of those controls over a specified period of time. EdGraph’s SOC 2 Type II report did not have any noted exceptions and therefore was issued with a “clean” audit opinion from SSF.

To receive this badge, a solution must be able to 1) consume the data provided through the Vendor Developer Guide for a specific starter kit, and 2) must leverage the Ed-Fi API, Ed-Fi Analytics Middle Tier, or the Ed-Fi data standard.
